Our Story

Born from firsthand experience

Sharon Gray and Jesse McLallen, Co-Founders of The Spec Sheet, know all too well the pain of ad specs, having worked in ad production for a combined 30 years.

A smarter way

For years the ad industry has done ad specs the same old way - clunky, clumsy, and error-prone. The Spec Sheet is a breath of fresh air.

No one gets into the ad industry to agonise over ad specs and the admin that comes with them. By streamlining the boring stuff, we hope to free you up so you can focus on what matters - creating cool work and solving clients' problems.

How we did it.


We started by poring over every inch of The Spec Sheet so that it's a dream to use.

There were countless iterations and rounds of feedback on just what the data model should be.

By forming strong partnerships with media owners and agencies, we trialled the first platform with 1000+ industry users.

We have now built the software and ad spec library from the ground up, customised for agencies and their team needs. And it's all been made with a bigger picture in mind.

 

The "Ah-ha" moment!

It was yet another dreaded dropbox full of ad specs that first made Sharon and Jesse think, “surely there must be a better way”. It should be slick and simple and bring every stakeholder into one online hub. When they couldn’t find it, they decided to make it.

We really do give a damn about making life easier. Really!
